Roddy Barnes 10/10, 10/11
Roddy Barnes is a blues/jazz performer and composer with six CDs of his own and collaborations with founding members of internationally renowned Saffire—the Uppity Blues Women, Gaye Adegbalola and Ann Rabson. After receiving his B.A. in Classical Performance Missouri Western State College, he was awarded a scholarship to study in France under Francois Rene Duchable. While in France, he performed in blues clubs in several French cities. He then received, a scholarship to the Berklee School of Music in Boston, Massachusetts, and performed blues throughout the city. New Orleans lured him south where he was performed in venues including Tipitinas, Maxwells Toulouse Cabaret, and The Common Ground. In Austin, Texas, he was a monthly feature on John Aielli's "Ecclecticos" on KUT radio showcasing his original songs. In addition to collaborative work with many artists, Roddy continues to perform solo.
